Ubisoft's Free Battle Royale Hyperscape Ends This April

Ubisoft is shutting down Hyperscape this year, less than two years after its release.

First unveiled in the summer of 2020 and released shortly after it was released as a free battle royale, Hyper Scape puts players in a futuristic city to fight 100 players in squads of three. Hyper Scape tried a little differently to set it apart from other battle royales. It kept the loadout small, navigation was very fast, and gave viewers on streaming platforms the ability to vote for in-game events that changed an ongoing match.

However, keeping Battle Royale was not enough and now Ubisoft has announced that Hyper Space will be shutting down in a few months.

Ubisoft’s blog post said, “Competitors, we’ve made the tough decision to end development on Hyper Scape and end the game as of April 28th. “We started creating vertical, melee, and fast-paced shooting experiences. We are very grateful to the community that has been with us on our journey, and we will apply the key lessons we learned from this game to future products.

We would like to thank the Hyper Scape community for their passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia, both inside and outside the game. Your dedication to the games we make will always be appreciated.”

If you haven’t checked out Hyper Scape yet, we recommend giving it a try before April 28th. No matter what you think of the game, after April 28 it will be gone forever and become an unplayable part of history.
