Tchia postponed to early 2023

The delayed train continues to roll. With Kerbal Space Program 2 and Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown pushed back to 2023 for a week, one of this year’s promising indie titles won’t even come out in 2022.

Tchia was first announced at the 2020 Gaming Awards and takes place on a beautiful island inspired by New Caledonia. The player controls a young girl with magical abilities that inhabit not only inanimate objects like coconuts, but also animals. Expeditions include sailing to various tropical islands in the open air, as well as climbing through forests and soaring across the landscape on a glider. The game last appeared at the 2021 Game Awards with a release period in 2022.

Developer Awaceb posted an update on Twitter, explaining that the game needs further refinement, and in part, “This additional time will allow us to really polish every aspect of the game and refine every little detail we know of. Make Tchia a truly special experience.”

Tchia will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
