Optimus Prime's Lego Sets Coming Next Month
Lego will soon release a set based on the Transformers license. Next month we can run to our favorite Lego supplier to buy an Optimus Prime Lego set. We still don’t know what they look like, how many pieces are in the box, or how much they cost, but it’s OPTIMUS PRIME! None of that matters. This will be an easy purchase for any Transformers fan. Here is the official teaser announcement from LEGO.

With the leader of the Autobots, Lego begins the reign of Transformers in Lego. If this product comes off the shelf (and it probably will), I’d love to see more transformers bricked. Megatron will probably be the second set, and what comes next, anyone can guess. Grimlock, Bumblebee, Soundwave, and Starscream are probably just a few characters that aren’t far off.
I’m guessing the Lego geniuses have figured out how to use all the parts in the box for two variants: a robot form and a vehicle. Some Lego sets that already exist use the same pieces for three different builds (which means you can get a triple changer!)
What do you think about Transformers moving from Kre-O brick buildings to LEGO? What character or action set would you like to see next?
I am an avid Lego collector and builder. The only thing that surprises me on this set is if it’s based on the Transformers movie. I wish Lego came out with the first-generation design that debuted as a cartoon in the 1980s.
