Nintendo Unveils Best-selling Indie Game on Switch of 2021

Longtime Switch owners know that the console is an indie powerhouse. Of course, Marios and Zeldas are great too, but there’s something special about loading up great indie games to play in bed or on the go. 2021 has been a strong year for indie across the board, but if you’re wondering which games got the most attention on Switch, Nintendo has you covered.

The company has released a short video showcasing the best-selling indie games on the Switch. Sadly, the montage does not represent actual sales and does not rank these titles based on performance. Obviously, what we need to know is that it sold more than many other indie games that hit the eShop in 2021. This is still an impressive feat.

If you don’t want to watch the video, here are the top selling indie games on the Switch in 2021 (in alphabetical order):

  • Axiom Verge 2

  • Curse of the Dead Gods

  • Cyber Shadow

  • Doki Doki Literature Club Plus

  • east

  • Ender Lily: Knight’s Silence

  • Islanders: Console Edition

  • Littlewood

  • Route 96

  • Slime Rancher: Plottable Edition

  • Spellunky 2

  • Stick Fight: Game

  • Subnautica + Subnautica below zero

  • Tetris Effect: Connected

  • Unpack

It’s a powerful list of high-quality games, so it’s reassuring to see that you’re making money in addition to getting critical acclaim. Personally, I recommend looking at almost everything.
