New Uncharted Movie Trailer Reveals Sulli's Signature Mustache
The new Uncharted movie is only a few months away, and we just got a new trailer to curate. A lot of the footage isn’t new after the first trailer, which was re-released very close in October. However, this fresh look at the upcoming remake offers some fresh information, including a backstory to Moncada, the antagonist of the film played by Antonio Banderas. His family seems to have done more than just find the incredible fortune at the heart of the story. They found it, but were betrayed. It remains to be seen how this connects with Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg)’s plan to retrieve the shiny treasure.
One of the trailer’s biggest revelations came at the very end when we first saw Sully with a distinctive mustache in the movie. In the game, Sully’s beard is one of the defining characteristics of him, and what Uncharted fans immediately noticed was something missing from the initial character reveal. It felt strange to see a mentor without a mentor, but given that the film was pre-Naughty Dog series, this change makes sense. However, Sully isn’t likely to keep a clean shave in the full movie, and you can check out the reveal along with the rest of the new details in the trailer above.
Uncharted by Sony Entertainment Picture will be released in theaters on February 18th. A recent poster I found on Fandango showcases some pirate-worthy images, and you can see more in today’s trailer. This has led some to believe that the upcoming movie may have something to do with Uncharted 4: Theif’s End, which has a similarly shaped ship graveyard. But it’s hard to say exactly what kind of connection we’ll see between gaming and the upcoming adaptation. Only two more months until we figure it out.
