New Missions and Rewards Arrive on Nintendo Switch

A recent update to Nintendo Switch added a new feature called Missions and Rewards. While not a lot of work, these small actions allow Switch owners to use and explore the Switch Online service.

An update is now available, so all users with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription will have access to Missions and Rewards. This feature adds a task that gives you a handful of My Nintendo Platinum points on completion. Missions to be completed include backing up your saves to the cloud, booting Super Mario Bros. from the Switch Online NES collection, or other ways to explore everything you can do with an online subscription. To view these missions, simply go to the Nintendo Switch Online app from your Switch’s home screen.

Since redeemable rewards use already existing Platinum Points, you may already have a lot of coins on hand to use for new digital items such as new icon elements. These elements are character pictures, frames, and backgrounds used to create and customize the icon image for your Switch profile. Current Switch Online users can pay Platinum Points for Animal Crossing and Mario Odyssey-themed icon parts, plus a new set of icon elements each month. Alternatively, you can save Platinum Points for physical and digital merchandise already available in the My Nintendo program.
