Metroid Dread Adds 3 New Boss Rush Modes In Free Update

Nintendo added new Dread and Rookie mods to Metroid Dread last month with the news that the Boss Rush mod would be added to the game in the April update. That update is now available for Metroid Dread, and the game has three boss rush modes, not just one.

Marking the second free update for Metroid Dread, this new April update adds Boss Rush, Survival Rush and Dread Rush. We’ve also added a practice mode where you can practice fighting against many of the bosses you’ve discovered on Samus’ recent trip.

A breakdown of each mode follows.

Boss Rush

Boss Rush is unlocked after actually completing Metroid Dread and you will have to deal with each boss one by one. At the end of each battle, Samus’ missiles are restored, but damage taken is carried over to the next boss battle. However, each battle adds to the player’s maximum number of missiles, energy tanks, and power bombs depending on where the boss battles take place in the main game.

Survival Rush

You must complete Boss Rush to unlock Survival Rush. In Survival Rush, you have to kill as many bosses as possible before the timer runs out. Each time you defeat a boss, a timer time is added, and if you can defeat the boss without taking damage, you can also get extra time. However, missiles and health do not regenerate between bosses in this mode.

Dread Rush

To unlock Dread Rush, you must complete Dread Mode, which was added to the game in the February update. Dread Mode is for the most hardcore players. In Dread Rush, you’ll face 12 bosses without stopping. Just like in dread mode, if you get hit in a dread rush, you die instantly. However, the missile will fully recover after each boss battle.

Nintendo has the following to say about this new mod: Defeat each boss as quickly as possible. Then you can go back in time and see how things have improved.”

Update Metroid Dread before returning to planet ZDR to see these four new mods.
