George R.R. Martin Comments on Elden Ring Collaboration

Yesterday the famous writer George R.R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire) has posted some comments on his blog about his role in From Software’s upcoming Elden Ring development. Although his blog is short, the author has made it clear that his work on the Elden Ring was done years ago and focused on world-building a fantastic realm for players to explore in February. In his blog, Martin mentions that video games aren’t his thing, but he goes on to say that he played old-school strategy games like Master of Orion, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Railroad Tycoon. Obviously Martin has a great taste for the games he chooses to play that day!

Martin’s post is very clear in that he took part in building the world for the realm of the Elden Ring. We don’t know exactly how this translates into the final game, but as we’ve seen in our network tests, the world is full of discoveries, even in those little bits. The core base story between Tarnished and The Lands Between appears to have significant similarities to the current Dark Souls series, but the world itself and much of its history are still unknown, so we’ll have to wait and see what exactly happens. . Martin also notes that in today’s entertainment world, video games are bigger than movies. You can see the full post on Martin’s official blog here. Martin also says the Elden Ring is “unbelievable.” On that last point I tend to agree.

The Elden Ring will be released on February 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Are you looking forward to it?
