First-Person Shooter Documentary Clip Reveals The Making of Halo: Combat Evolved

First Person Shooter: Ultimate FPS Documentary is an upcoming film that takes a look at the history of the FPS genre from a designer’s and player’s perspective. The project successfully kickstarted in 2021 and is raising additional funding through an Indiegogo campaign. Game Informer shares exclusive clips from the film covering the creation of Halo: Combat Evolved, including the importance of the Master Chief’s relationship with Cortana from the creator’s point of view.

The 5 minute clip is part of a more than 3 hour documentary featuring over 100 hours of footage from interviews with designers such as John Carmack, John Romero, Cliff Bleszinski, Warren Spector, American McGee and more. The film also includes insights from professional shooters and industry experts to unravel the genre’s origins, evolution, and influence on industry and popular culture.

First Person Shooter: Ultimate FPS Documentary is directed by writers David L. Craddock and Chris Stratton. The project is in post-production and is expected to be released during the fourth quarter of 2022. For more information, visit the film’s Indiegogo campaign, which ends May 28th.
