Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 Starts Next Week
It’s important to keep in mind what’s going on within Activision Blizzard right now with regards to the ongoing assertion of workplace culture. The ongoing action against the company by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) is a reported harmful workplace culture action. Most of the lawsuits focus on “violations of national citizenship and equal pay laws,” especially regarding the treatment of women and other marginalized groups. If you would like to learn more about the proceeding so far, including the details listed in the lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, please see the previous scope here.
Season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and iterations of Warzone are just around the corner. Announced today with a great movie trailer and detailed blog post, COD’s new season kicks off on February 14th, and changes apply to all aspects of multiplayer. even zombies.
As seen in the trailer featuring the Fireteam Yeti, the new big vehicle added to Warzone is the Nebula V, which is as deadly as the deadly tank, and a toxic gas that is implemented in several in-game. The first is to use the Nebula V ammunition, a new type of ammunition available for small arms. It does no additional damage compared to the base bullet, but releases toxins into the air when the target dies. Anyone who finds themselves in the cloud will receive an effect similar to being outside the collapsing circles of Battle Royale. The field of vision is narrowed and affected players take damage over time.

Like the trailer, the Nebula V also comes in bomb form. Players can get a very rare briefcase that hides an explosive with an explosion sequence that can be activated once put down. Bombs cannot be disabled or disarmed once detonated, so use them wisely and get out of the dodge safely. The hand-held decontamination unit is also a new field device capable of dispersing areas of Nebula V gas and neutralizing its effects.
Other new additions include armored vehicles, chemical plants, underground chemical laboratories, bombers, and relocatable balloons that can soar and drop to nearby points on the island. Pretty convenient!

Vanguard multiplayer will feature two new maps, Casablanca and Gondola, a medium-sized three-lane stage. Along with this comes new kill streaks and new perks, and sometime during the season we may see a new mode of arms race debut and vehicles introduced in Vanguard multiplayer.
Zombies are gaining a new experience called Terra Maledicta that introduces you to an Egyptian desert setting. As the COD blog states, “Gateway to new arenas will open, including Dark Aether in an all-new location for Vanguard Zombies.” There are many new zombie changes, including a new healing aura that starts with a basic team heal and allows you to level up to eventually revive your entire team when you’re in a difficult position.
Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone fans seem to have a lot of stuff to check out next week. The update goes on Valentine’s Day on all platforms where COD Vanguard and Warzone are available.
